“Every day is a new beginning. Treat it that way. Stay away from what might have been, and look at what can be.” — Marsh Petrie Sue
I think that’s a powerful quote about the excitement of expectation and new beginnings!
At the time of writing, we are only a couple of weeks away from the new year. It’s a perfect time to reflect on our highs and lows, successes and failures of the past year before we open the door to our new beginning.
Of course, January was named after Janus, the Roman god who had a head that looked in two directions, to the past and to the future. He represents the year past and the new year, the old way of being and the transition into a new beginning.
Small beginnings can change your future
No matter what you dream or how you plan for the new year, know that all dreams create great challenges and also offer some of our greatest opportunities. We never know what life has in store for us — so hold vision for what can be, and do one thing each day and you really will build toward fulfilling your dream.
So, what are you waiting for? Begin on your work today.
“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.”
— Maria Robinson
“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language And next year’s words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a beginning.”
— T.S. Eliot
Between you and every goal that you wish to achieve, there is a series of obstacles, and the bigger the goal, the bigger the obstacles. Your decision to be, have and do something out of the ordinary entails facing difficulties and challenges that are out of the ordinary as well. Sometimes your greatest asset is simply your ability to stay with it longer than anyone else.
— Brian Tracy
