I have just finished reading “Network Marketing For Facebook: Proven Social Media Techniques For Direct Sales And MLM Success” book by Jim Lumpkin and Brian Carter.
I came across this book while researching for a forthcoming post on “Prospecting vs Passive Marketing“.
At the time, I was searching for network marketing discussions comparing LinkedIn vs Facebook for prospecting.
I am someone who continuously invests in furthering my education and developing my skills, and have studied Robert Kiyosaki and other business thought leaders while being in the network marketing industry for +26 years.
Being passionate about how network marketing offers a powerful, long-term solution to many of the problems people are facing in today’s economy, I became a frequent buyer of self-help business books, and especially those on topics within the network marketing space.
Network Marketing For Facebook: Proven Social Media Techniques For Direct Sales And MLM Success.
In my view, this book is very helpful for newbies to the NWM industry, for those who have never done any network marketing on Facebook before, and for those who have dabbled on Facebook but are not seeing the desired results due to the lack of a simple system.
The book is well written and should be considered mandatory reading if you are planning to do any network marketing on Facebook. It also gives you a great overview on why Facebook is the top platform for business owners and network marketing leaders.
Another thing, two comments by the authors resonated with me. Firstly, that going down the blog path doesn’t yield fast duplication. Secondly, that people on LinkedIn hide behind their business persona.
In fact, LinkedIn are steadily restricting functionality from the free version that network marketing leaders need, which includes a limited view of prospects inside targeted companies or organisations. It’s a changing platform, making Facebook a better venue for networking.
Let’s face it, there are 1.32 billion people on Facebook, so you’ll never run out of good prospects or customers to talk to. Facebook is much easier too… And if you know anything about duplication, keeping things SIMPLE wins every time!!
In this book you will also learn how to:
1) set up your profile
2) find prospects
3) set up and manage lists
4) schedule activities
5) Break the ice
6) Follow up.
7) Leverage groups and company page.
8) And many more great tips
9) Interviews with successful network marketers
One thing I do love about this book, is that you can get started marketing your business on Facebook almost immediately. This is not rocket science because there is nothing complicated to learn here. You are being given the keys to a proven system to follow.
What’s more, I have used similar Facebook techniques for a long time. If you work their proven system consistently and reach out to at least 10 people every day, then you’ll see the desired results and growth in your business.
I loved the second half of the book, and few of the interviews with successful network marketers caught my eye. Those particular interviews contained some valuable golden nuggets. They also bring the system into perspective, and the kind of similar results you can expect to achieve working it.
Where this book falls short, is that it’s just the bare bones of a proven system. But you do get enough of the mechanics to put the system to work for you.
Whilst that’s enough information for many network marketers to get out there and seize the day, others will find it lacking in finer details and strategies within each section.
It’s a delicate balance between staying focused and not going overboard with additional content that could be better served in a follow-up book.
If you read this book you will learn simple strategies to make your Facebook marketing activity very successful.
However, there are books like Tom ‘Big Al’ Schriter’s book “Ice Breakers! How To Get Any Prospect To Beg You For A Presentation“, or the Social Media Recruiting Frenzy and the 10-DayAMF Bootcamp that expand on Jim and Brian’s Facebook strategies in more detail.
I would recommend Network Marketing For Facebook: Proven Social Media Techniques For Direct Sales & MLM Success to my downline to read. The proven system is very practical, doesn’t take up a lot of your time to do, and the authors have made it simple enough to follow to get going quickly on Facebook.
Over to you. Have you read it yet? What are your thoughts and insights?
