Today I went for a walk round my garden to see how all the flowers are doing and what hasn’t survived the cold wet winter. To my amazement there are buds everywhere, some are well advanced too! It seems that for once I did my pruning at the right time last year!
In my front yard there is a solo Camellia in flower, but it is too high up for me to photograph without getting the extending step ladders out the garage. I hope that the frost doesn’t get the first flowers like it does almost every year.
I also discovered in my back yard there is a Lesser Periwinkle growing at the base of a conifer. This pretty Vinca Minor, Argenteovariegata is quite invasive if left to grow wild. But I love the two tone waxy leaves, they always look beautiful in the sunshine and add a dash of color to an otherwise dark green tree.
